Maria Sharapova...enough said!

Good video with some inspirational tennis from my fav. Maria Sharapova!

Feelin' Like a Number 1!!!

I know, I know...it's been more than a week since the last time I wrote. But for all of my readers who work in the retail business, you know how hectic Thanksgiving week can get and for those of you who don't work in retail, think about us next time you get a bit of an A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E when doing your holiday shopping. And now on to my big announcement for today (even though some of you already know what I'm about to say)!!!
We've reached the mid season mark of this season at the C.B. Smith Park Tennis League, and I am happy, over-the-top, ecstatic, and just freakin' excited to tell you all that at this point I share the #1 spot on the park rankings posted during the Thanksgiving break!!! Right now my record is 6-1. It's been a really fun season so far even though it's been really really really cold (for someone whose lived in FL his whole life) on some of the nights. The playoffs should be coming around in about a month and it would just be amazing to get into the playoffs while holding the #1 ranking. So, I just wanted to share my joy and excitement with all of you and I hope that the last week has been as exciting for you as it has been for me!
Oh, and remember, next time you need to do some shopping and you're in the Pembroke Pines area, drop by Macy's and say Hello. Maybe I'll give you an autograph or something! Just kidding!
B.T.W.-I found this really nice video (above) on YouTube featuring the best tennis player in the world. Check it out!
UPDATE: Unfortunately as of yesterday (11/27) I fell to the #2 spot. But I'm still aiming for that #1 spot by the time playoffs come around...

Poetic Intervention: Untitled

Disclaimer- the poem you are about to read is a little on the SAUCY/SEXUAL side, but I assure you, it isn't anything over the top.
Laughing lovers living love

away, above, around, and afar
crying, cuddling, cumming, climaxing
making mad melodies moaning.
Dear dawn don't dwell,
evening everlasts everything everyday.
Just a little something something I pulled out of the poetic side of my brain. I don't really know what this style of poetry is called, but I try not to pay too much attention to that. I just write to write. So enjoy, and write you're own and let me read it. Should be interesting!

Living A Healthy Life: Simple, Simple, Simple!

Eating your fruits and vegetables everyday is fantastic, but it takes more than that to be able to call yourself healthy. Most of the definitions I found for the word healthy referred to the aforementioned health of the body and more importantly, the health of the mind. Without the mind, the body could not function, but without a healthy body, a healthy mind is useless. So, lets discuss different parts of ourselves and how we can make them healthy or healthier. :)

Eating the Right Foods For Your Body Type -Lets face it, not everyone can survive on the same diet. That's why there is so many of them! A good tip to remember when dieting is that you don't have to stick to a diet verbatim. I know that to many of my diet-freaks out there, this is the same as "cheating". But, in reality it's not. What works for you might not work for me, and that is why, if we choose a diet, pick one that's best for you, not the one that helped Kirstie Alley or Dan Marino.

Distracting Yourself from Everyday Monotony-The mind needs a break. Take a break. Go away. If you can't afford a vacation, close your eyes, lay down, and just let time pass for a few minutes. I've done this plenty of times before when I've been feeling a bit stressed and broke. I guarantee that if you do this you will at least feel a little refreshed or at least refreshed enough to hold you over to the time when you can afford that vacation.

Eliminating the Negativity From Your Life-If there is anything I've learned over the past few years of my life, it has to be that if something is affecting you in a negative way, you have to change it. The longer you let these feelings, people, or anything else affect you negatively, the worse it is going to make you feel. Many times, we don't notice if we have someone in our life that is having a negative effect on us until we sit back and really analyze people. Over the past few years many people have walked (or been shown the exit) out of my life. At first, I was hurt, but then I realized that I actually felt better without them being in my life. My reason for this feeling is that you never miss something that was bad for you. Would you miss and illness that suddenly left your body? Would you miss someone who was only pretending to be your friend? Surround yourself by people who maintain a positive outlook on life. Think optimistically not pessimistically.

With this, I'm opening up the floor to you all. I have tons of other little tidbits to share on life, but I don't want to drag or get too lengthy here. So, please, let me know what tips you all can share on living a HEALTHY life. And remember, Smile, Laugh, and Love!

Quotable Quote: What Do You Think?

While doing some research the other night, I came across a list of quotes. Some long, some short. Some inspiring, and some confusing. However, there was one that stood out to me more than any other. A nice, simple, but oh so deep quote:

"You can't do anything about the length of your life, but you can do something about its width and depth."

At first, this looks like your average, everyday, inspirational quote. But in reality, it's so much more than that. What exactly is the width and depth of our life? What can we do to make our lives wider, deeper? I'll give you all may take on this quote, but then, I definitely want to see what all of you have to say.

I believe that the depth and width of our lives can only be found in what we do at this very moment. Who cares about the legacy we leave behind? Who cares what people think about us when we're gone? Why not do the things that make you happy at this very moment and just take a chance with life? History is soon forgotten but what you do today can make or break your day.

I strongly believe that we should all do things that make us smile, that make us truly enjoy everyday that we get to live. It's not about how many friends you make, or how many books you've read. It's about being your own friend and writing your own book. If you can't make yourself happy, then what makes you think that someone else can?

As people, I believe that many times we leave a lot of things unsaid. While we do this, we say a lot of things that are useless. If you have something to say, say it. Quit being fearful of what others think. Just say it.

As I was sitting in class today listening to my literature professor ramble, something that he said finally caught my ear. He said: "Is it possible to die before reaching the end of your life?" Now, before you answer that question, sit back and think about it for a second.

Many people die before reaching the end of their lives. Many dreams and goals that they wanted to reach are left unaccomplished. I for one don't want to live an unfinished life, and I definitely don't want to die with nothing but dreams and aspirations in my mind.

Do you really want to end your life without saying the things that need to be said? I believe that we can only add to the width and depth of our life when we truly learn how to make ourselves happy and say what we need to say.

Besides giving me your view on this quote, I would love it if each of you, in your comments, told me the one thing that would bring a smile to your face right now. After you've written it, I want you to go out and do it. Do that thing that will make you happy, because you never know if tomorrow will bring another opportunity for you to smile.

It's Aussie Time!

It's finally here! The 2007 Australian Festival!

The Australian Festival should be a pretty exciting event here in South Florida. It's exciting because it is a very welcomed change. I mean, how often do we get to celebrate cultures from somewhere as beautiful and different as Australia? Though I'm not sure how many Australians reside in Florida, I'm pretty sure that this melting pot of a community we live in will truly embrace this festival.

Sometimes we all just get so bogged down in the monotony of the everyday hustle and bustle that we forget that there are more exotic things than foreign films and foreign fashion. There is something from where all of those things originated, and it's called culture. This festival will be a great opportunity for all of us to appreciate Australian culture!

So when and where?

The Australian Festival will be held at C.B. Smith Park in Broward County. The Address is 900 North Flamingo Road Pembroke Pines, FL 33028.

Just in Case You're Wondering...

Hello all, it's me, Roxie, again. I gotta admit, I'm liking the fame I'm getting off of this blog thing. The paparazzi got so bad this morning that Ines and I had to sneak in through the back door at work.

With that said, I've decided to extend Eliu's "vacation" a little longer. HaHa! That's why he hasn't been able to post anything (no Internet service in a dog cage!). I didn't even let him out on Tuesday so that he could buy the new Britney Spears album (and believe me, he had a full review ready). I had to hear him crying all night because of that. Now he knows how I feel! Maybe I'll feed him later. Maybe.

His ransom is posted at 100 doggy biscuits. Not the regular kind. I want the most expensive ones from the pet shop of my choice. Contact The Rox for more information!
